I was born in a city near Naples and I have lived almost my entire life in Pompeii. An architect by profession, I devoted himself to photography mainly dealing with the representation of the urban landscape, the urban fringe and suburbs. During my studies I was selected for the edition of “Napoli Fotocittà- Dintorni dello Sguardo.” From this first exhibition the research began and in 1998 I won the prize Savignano Image in Forlì and in 1999 the prize Marangoni in Florence. I gave to print several publications and I held exhibitions both in Italy and abroad.
Campania is a fertile and productive land overlooking the Mediterranean, inhabited since ancient times.
Today it is densely built: a large metropolitan area that stretches from north of Naples to south of Salerno embracing their bays and surrounding the Vesuvius.
The Campania new creating overlapped the ancient one , through customs, economies and policies on a territory. A rich repertoire of objects, spaces and places are matter of interest to any photographer.
I’ve done in this region most of my photographic work as it has always struck me its being a land of huge contrasts: living spaces and desolate countryside, bright lights and dark alleys, ancient glories and modern smallness. Everything together under a pale sky and a warm sun.
