Bio

Andrea Boscardin was born in Milan, where he lives, in 1976.

From 2005 he started working as a freelance photojournalist for some of the most important national newspapers and magazines.

In 2009 he founded with Arianna Sanesi and Elisabetta Cociani the photo collective Micro.

Statement

I was born in Milan, the major city of Lombardia, in 1976.

When I’m flying back home from a journey and I’m about to arrive near to my native city I try to feel better looking outside the window but unfortunately I am always under the impression that the thin gray haze that envelops Milan makes me sad.

In my veins there is a big jumble as well: my mother and all her family come from Sicily, my grandfather from Veneto and my grandmother from Beograd!!

My father and his brother are the only ones in my family that were born in Milan and so am I and my brother, that’s why I don’t have old family traditions or memories in this place.

Of course this is my city, but sometimes I feel far from it, like an immigrant missing his country.

Today I’m still living, loving and leaving Milan.
